Hiya folks! Chris here with another super frugal article! (I hate the word “frugal” btw) Anyways.. So today I want to share with you some neat ideas on how to save money on Amazon. Amazon is one the biggest online marketplace for well everything… You can buy anything from fresh milk to a $40,000 rolex.

Well like you, I am also a regular shopper over at Amazon (I don’t shop for Rolexes that often though), so I decided to research some ways that could save me money on Amazon. Over the years I did develop a few tactics of my own but I have to say I was very surprised at what my 10 min research turned up! If I knew of these methods before I would of saved quite a lot of money.

So relax, kick back, and take notes. We’re going in…..

How To Save Money On Amazon

The Amazon Store In Dunfermline, Scotland

SwagBucks

I’m really not a fan of SwagBucks as a way to make money, there are better options but apparently if you use SwagBucks, you can use up your credits to buy Amazon Gift Cards.

Worth a shot but if you don’t use SwagBucks already don’t bother signing up. There are better tips coming 😉

eBates

eBates is a cash-back program and coupon site where you can find daily offers and deals for major retailers. Lucky for us, Amazon is also eligible! You can get a 3-5% discount on specific items. Not much but if you’re considering a high priced item ($100+ ), those few percentage points can really make a difference! 🙂

Free Android Apps

Any Android users here? Apparently the Android store over at Amazon hosts a free app daily. And it’s not a free app that is marketed as a “free app” lol. It’s an app that costs money that you can download for free just for that day.

Trade in Your Gadgets

WOW! Who knew about this one huh? Apparently you can trade in all your old gadgets (they don’t even have to be bought from Amazon) and once you sell them you get an Amazon gift card. Hmmm now where are my old iPhones? What can you sell?

Warehouse Deals

Amazon also runs a warehouse sale on open box products that may be used or slightly damaged. Of course all at a very attractive discount. You should take a look and see what you can find. 😉

Deal of the Day

This is a page dedicated to daily deals Amazon may have going on. Some might be so-so but others may be a great find. It all depends on what you’re looking for.

It’s worth checking out though every once in a while. Especially when there is a birthday coming up or something of the sort..

Unbeatable Price Guarantee

Amazon guarantees the best prices online, that is why it’s so popular with online shoppers! Now if you happen to buy an item on Amazon and within 30 days of the purchase you find it cheaper, Amazon will refund the difference! How’s that for customer service huh?

How Do You Like Camels?

When you’re interested in an item, drop over to CamelCamelCamel.com and see how the price is fluctuating. You can type in the item or it’s URL and the camels will crawl the entire Amazon marketplace to find you the BEST price!

Add to Cart

You know what is the worst enemy to money savers? It’s Impulse Buying! It’s the devil! 🙂 So how can you avoid impulse buying on Amazon. Whenever you’re just browsing Amazon and see something you like or want, simply add it to your cart  but DON’T BUY IT! Let it marinate there. Wait a week or so and then think about it, if you still want it, get it. If not, don’t bother! 😉

Free Kindle & Kindle Books!

First off, you do not need to buy a Kindle. You can download the Kindle software for free directly on your Mac or PC and have the same experience. But of course Amazon doesn’t tell you that because it likes to sell Kindles. It also like to sell books too (it’s rooted in it’s DNA) hence why the free kindle software they make available! 🙂

So once you get the Kindle- or the Kindle software, it’s time to fill it up with some books 🙂 Well go over to the Kindle Books selection, type in a genre and sort the price Low to High. Most often the search will return at least one free ebook, easy as that! 🙂

They may not be best sellers but maybe they’ll be worth the time, who knows? 🙂

Students & Mums

There are also other types of Amazon Prime (see next tip) type membership programs you can benefit from, depending on your situation. Here is one for students and one for mothers.

The No.1 To Save Money on Amazon: Amazon Prime

I did a whole review on this wonderful service from Amazon. Basically you get free shipping, free eBooks from the Kindle library and free movies. You have to see it to believe it! 🙂
