The more time goes by, the more we are connected to the world wide web, we are constantly creating platforms that connect us to one other. Welcome to Web 2.0! My friends, we are the internet! Can you imagine yourself not being connected now? We’re used to it addicted to it! I am not going to sit here and preach to you on just how much the internet is a part of our daily lives, you already now that, but today I’d like to share some tips on how to save money online. Yes, you can actually save some money and time while online. So here we go:

How To Save Money Online

Stop Impulse Buying

IMG_4434

Sometimes when I’m bored, log into Amazon, and just buy something, something I do not need! In my latest “impulse buying spree” I purchased a $2o sleeve for my MacBook! It’s nice, I really like it but I already had a sleeve and a case for it, I really didn’t need it. Are you guilty of impulse buying too? Let’s try to remove that, or at least half it! 😀 We could easily be spending close to $500 a year this way!

Avoid Shady Websites

Avoid Shady Websites

The term “prevention is better than cure” applies here! I love buying from big established sites like Play, Amazon, eBay and the sort. Not only you can find and compare prices but you can rest assured your transactions are  safe. Try to avoid scammy looking websites when you can and buy from trusted sources.  The internet has it’s own dark corners and creepy alleyways. Try to avoid these, a scam website can really bruise up your wallet really quickly. Before buying from any site, make sure they have all their contact details in order, see if they have a social presence on social networks and Google them to see what their reputation says about them.

Outsource to Fiverr

Outsource to Fiverr

Fiverr is an online marketplace for people willing to do things for just $5. You can get a graphic designer, promoter, virtual assistant, article writer and any other task you might think of (that usually sell for much more) for just $5! I would advise you to take some time out to check out fiverr.com and see what you can outsource to the sellers there. I can assure you the transactions are safe and the customer support is top notch as I’m a buyer and a seller on Fiverr.

Compare Prices

Compare your prices before making a purchase. The internet is huge and it’s worldwide. You can find a Chinese company selling the same products as an American company for half the price! Doing a quick price comparison for a new DSLR camera, I found prices ranging from $700 to $1000+ for the same model. Dig deep in these sites and I am sure you’ll find a bargain somewhere!

Check out this list of 15 recommended price comparison sites!

Are you enjoying these tips so far? Stick around for the bonus hot tip at the end 🙂

Go for Yearly vs Monthly

SAVE$

If you have a recurring subscription online, most probably you will get a huge discount for paying a yearly price in advance. Usually you pay an approximately 10-25% less on these subscriptions when doing so. I know it may incur a major expense at the first but it’s very beneficial if you are sure you are going to stick to the service/product. For the sake of your wallet, I’d suggest you bite the bullet on this one and splurge so you can save later. 🙂

Coupons, Coupons, Coupons

Click here to visit Amazon’s Coupons Page

Coupon-ing is a hobby and a skill in itself that you are going to have to learn but the financial rewards are out of this world! If done right; you you can save money both online and out in the “real world”! I’m telling you some of the stories of coupon-ing I hear online are unbelievable! Below are two sites where you can get coupons for services online that you can redeem at major retail sites or stores:

Deal Taker & Deal Circular

Here’s a cheap beginner’s guide on couponing I found on Amazon. It’s worth a read!

The Hot Tip

This one last tip may not apply to everyone but if you have a Kindle, go to Amazon.com in the “Kindle Store” department and in the search bar type a subject you are interested in. Then simply do “Sort by Price: Low to High”. Most of the times you are given a selection of FREE eBooks on the subject you selected that can be downloaded on your kindle. For the sake of this article, I searched for “Positive Thinking” eBooks. Here is what I found! 5 FREE eBooks! 😀

So what do you think?
